In the bustling City of London, the new London Wall Place project is a commercial scheme which comprises a vast array of elements to offer something for everyone. Lying within the remains of St Alphage Church and a section of the original London Wall, the London Wall Place site is steeped in history.
Two existing buildings – a 1950s podium and a vacant tower – have been replaced with high-quality office space, offering more than 75,000 sq ft to businesses. In the communal areas outside of the commercial space, the two heritage structures have been brought together with new pedestrian routes, and a series of beautifully landscaped gardens.
The lighting designers for the scheme were award-winning practice Studio Fractal, who promptly enlisted Architainment to supply a significant level of LED lighting for the new offices.
A number of linear LED solutions, supplied by Architainment, were selected to illuminate areas across the development. These included washrooms, communal areas and office space. Linear LED solutions were also used externally to light the building’s soffits, offering light while also highlighting the outside structure of the offices.
Architainment also supplied TROV products from the EcoSense range, to accentuate different elements within the space.
London Wall Place is a unique development as it brings together new and state-of-the-art offices with historic structures which tell part of London’s past. By supplying the different lighting solutions for this project we helped to create the ideal environment for those working in the buildings, as well as the people passing by and enjoying the gardens around the new office structures.
