The ultra-compact G-1 Beam POI is the perfect luminaire for permanent outdoor installations that require crisp and narrow beams. Its lightweight and compact design provides a unique solution for entrance features, signage, landscape, cruise ships, and beach installations. Despite the small physical footprint and just 50W power consumption, this compact projector with full ‘moving head’ functionality cuts through anything, providing extreme brightness and high contrast levels. Alongside the motorized focus and an optional remote base feature, the G-1 Beam POI offers an unsurpassed variety of effects with both a color wheel and a gobo wheel for powerful mid-air effects.
The G-1 Beam POI with full ‘moving head’ functionalities is designed and manufactured in Denmark and blends in with any contemporary or historical architecture. The base and the heat sinks are made from extruded or pressure cast marine grade aluminum, Oxsilan ® pre-treated, and powder coated to corrosion class C5-M marine grade. The yoke is made of durable materials, including impact and UV resistant P6.
This tough, reliable, and compact LED luminaire includes a powerful 50W white 6,500K LED engine capable of generating more than 53244 lux at 3m / 9.8ft, which is a staggering light output for a LED fixture of this size. This projector gives you an ultra-smooth movement, which enables spectacular and eye catching projections. The LEDs expected lifetime is 50,000 hours.
One of the big benefits of the G-1 Beam POI is its defined beam of light giving the necessary brightness to create tight mid-air beams and sharp effects. The gobo projection is focused in a very detailed way, so the pattern is clearly visible at any moment. While the 2.8º is the native aperture in the G-1 Beam POI, it is also possible to obtain a narrower beam angle by using the physical pseudo-zoom adjustable down to º. A shake effect is also available for all gobo designs.
Special Movement Features
The G-1 Beam POI includes a fast endless pan movement feature, which truly expands the possibilities when programming the fixture. Furthermore, with the G-1 Beam POI, SGM has introduced a patent pending position pre-set programming. Thanks to this feature, it is possible to program up to nine internal pan / tilt presets that can be combined with up to eight internal standalone programs.
The durable IP66-rating of the G-1 Beam POI luminaire ensures that the fixture is kept free of externally induced particles and liquids on internal electronics, optics, and light sources, including acidic air pollution, making it ideally suited for near- and offshore areas with high salinity. The need to clean optics is eliminated and no internal corrosion will occur. Extensive testing ensures maximum durability to vibration and physical impact.
The internal built-in dehumidifier protects this fixture from moisture, pollution and any other factors that can generate corrosion. The patented SGM dehumidification not only removes humidity but also prevents oxidation and condensation, while a Gore-Tex ® membrane equalizes internal pressure to prevent leaks. POI products installed on permanent installations must always be powered on, so dehumidifiers perform properly.
To achieve optimum performance of the LEDs at all times, this bright and accurate luminaire is optimized to manage heat impact through SGM’s unique thermal management technology. The technology consists of a uniquely designed body and heat sink, which ensures optimal cooling of the LED chips. Additionally, the special aluminum alloy and surface treatment ensures maximum heat dispersion while the fan-assisted cooling ensures optimal performance at any time and under any conditions (such as variable temperatures, limited airflows, confined installation spaces, etc.).
Like all SGM LED products, the G-1 Beam POI consists of SGM’s superior thermal management technology and tested under extreme hot and cold conditions, which ensures that the LEDs always operate within safe parameters.
The G-1 Beam POI is available with integral or remote base and can be mounted in any direction. Additionally, M-10 bolts are included, which ensures the fixture can be tightly screwed to a surface, protecting it from both vandalism and theft. The M-10 bolts are suitable for any kind of custom-made bracket and are included with all POI fixtures. A POI omega bracket made of untreated marine grade stainless steel, perfect for permanent rigging, is available as an accessory.
Included SGM technologies
This thermal management techonology provides Advaced Temperature Control monitored via sensors and software, keeping optimal LED junction temperatures, and ensuring maximum reliability for long-term use. SGM’s predictive color mixing algorithm compesates the decay levels of color-based LEDs for superior color rendering. Finally, the ThermalDriveTM system includes cutting-edge heat removal via passive thermal tecniques and active forced-air cooling (depending on the product), specifically designed to maintain LED efficiency while extending fixture’s lifetime.
SGM uses Full Range Calibration in all LED fixtures over CIE space and black body curve, measured via spectrometer and SGM Illumination Lab software. The consistency of each product and its lifetime expectancy is monitored throught inbuilt sensors to compensate color shifting and to allow color temperature re-calibration. To provide the best user experience, SGM’s Color Match procedure ensures accurate wavelength reproduction within the product range via colored LEDs, dichroic filters, or CMY mixing (depending on the product); all of them specified to match the SGM color palette.
SGM’s integrated patented Dehumidification process eliminates humidity and breaks down corrosive H2SO4 molecules deriving from polluted air to avoid destructive corrosion. Inbuilt dehumidifiers constantly remove trapped hydrogen from inside of the lighting fixture in a solid estate electrolytic process with no moving parts. The DryTechTM procedure is also based on a Ingress Protection rating of 65 or 66 (depending on the fixture), intended as a full protection against dust and other particles, while ensuring protection against direct water jets.
