Mondrian London at Sea Containers

THE MONDRIAN LONDON AT SEA CONTAINERS
SOUTH BANK LONDON

Mondrian London at Sea Containers made an immediate impact on the London hotel scene when it opened its doors on 30th September 2014. Designed by Design Research Studio under the creative direction of visionary Tom Dixon, the former 1970s office block located on London’s South Bank has undergone a significant transformation into a 5 star luxury hotel somewhat reflective of a transatlantic liner. The iconic building boasts 359 guestrooms and suites, stunning riverside views, a bar and a stunning rooftop lounge, an expansive restaurant, a maritime inspired 56-seat cinema and an exciting new spa concept.

Lighting forms an integral part of the Mondrian experience, and a range of LED Linear tape solutions were specified across several public areas of the hotel, including the reception, bar areas, lift lobbies, spa, cinema room and washrooms.

Lee Shields, Key Account Manager at Architainment comments “the award winning LED Linear tape solutions have been used due to their ability to meet the aesthetic and functional demands of such a high profile environment”

The exclusive rooftop bar – the Rumpus Room offers stunning views across London, and uses VarioLED Flex Venus 2200k top view and side view solutions to provide a warm ambience across the bar area, whilst the nautically themed Sea Containers Bar is fitted with 2700K VarioLED Flex ATON.

In the reception area, illumination is provided at low and high levels by a combination of VarioLED Flex Venus side view 2700K fixtures and Vario LED Flex Apollo2 fittings.

The agua Bathhouse & Spa sauna and steam rooms are fitted with LED Linear Venus, and the spa reception is fitted with an EcoSense WWIS internal wall wash solution to create a feature wall. To continue the theme, the restroom mirrors are accentuated with Venus top view 2700k lighting.

The lift lobbies feature Apollo tape along with VarioLED Flex RGB2S to provide colour to the area, whilst the Cinema Room features 2700k Venus to illuminate the steps.
