This year’s Chase the Dark event, which Architainment supported as headline sponsors, was a huge success.
The annual event, organised by the International Association of Lighting Designers, brings together light enthusiasts from across the globe. Participants photograph and share displays of light across social media based on a set theme. For 2019, to celebrate the IALD turning 50, the theme was ’50 Shades of Colour’.
Open to all lighting designers, this year attracted a number of individuals and practices from across the industry, who all shared their creative approaches on social media. With hundreds of impressions and high levels of engagement, the 2019 event was something for the industry, and the IALD to be proud of.
Designers and teams were supplied with LED torches and coloured filters which they then used to illuminate facades and street furniture. The results can be seen online by searching for #IALDChaseDark and #IALD50.
