The Cornerhouse
NOTTINGHAM
Nottingham’s The Cornerhouse approached Architainment Lighting Ltd to complete a bold lighting solution for the inside of the shopping, leisure, and entertainment complex.
Architainment Lighting supplied Philips Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12 fittings as part of an Ethernet-controlled lighting scheme to illuminate an impressive central stairwell and three floors of the new Cornerhouse. The complex wanted a discreetly placed, low-maintenance, energy-efficient lighting scheme to attract more people.
Six ColorBlast 12 fittings were installed on the ground, first, and second floors, strategically positioned on the exterior face of the stairwell drum on each of the three levels. The dramatically sloping sides of the escalators are lit on both external faces with one pair of ColorBlast fixtures per side. The top floor of the building functions as a service and office floor, and on the stairwell drum’s ceiling, a fabric skin is up-lit with a further eight ColorBlast 12 fixtures.
