Architainment Lighting is thrilled to announce it will be supporting this year’s Chase the Dark in the UK as the headline sponsor.
Chase the Dark
is an annual event organised by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). Each year, light enthusiasts gather from across the globe to participate in the international lighting movement, photographing and then sharing displays of light via social media. The results demonstrate the creativity and diversity of the lighting design profession.
The event runs over a 24-hour period, moving across different countries as night falls in each one. In the UK, this year’s event is taking place on 20th March between 6.30-9pm at the BDP offices. As headline sponsors, Architainment Lighting will be attending the evening and getting involved in the online conversation about Chase the Dark.
Open to all lighting designers, each year celebrates a different theme. This year, to mark the IALD turning 50, the theme is ’50 Shades of Colour’.
Designers and teams will be supplied with LED torches and coloured filters, allowing them to illuminate facades and street furniture before photographing their creations. These will then be shared online using #IALDChaseDark and #IALD50.
