DHA Designs were approached by the Victoria and Albert Museum with a brief to deliver a theatrical solution within a conservation-grade environment to illuminate a collection of David Bowie memorabilia; DHA drawing from their own background in theatre lighting were able to recreate the types of effects reflective of the decade using modern-day technology.
Architainment Lighting were called upon by DHA Designs to supply LED Linear Venus, a dot free illumination tape which bordered a section of the display as illustrated in the image.
Victoria and Albert Museum – David Bowie Exhibition
The David Bowie exhibition that ran between 23rd March and 11th August 2013 and was fantastically well received, with over 300,000 visitors to the V&A in only four months, making it their second most visited exhibition ever, after Art Deco.
DHA Design was shortlisted for a Special Project 2014 Lighting Design Award for the installation.
